MY SIGHTINGS: DOVES ATOP CHAPTERS' BUILDING

0
COM
These doves either liked reading good books or they knew where the good food was at, lol.  They were all gathered on the roof of the Chapters store... and nowhere else.

So if you think it's just owls that are associated with wisdom and sacred knowledge, you might want to think again.

No doves anywhere else in sight!

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST? - COLOURFUL CHRYSANTHEMUMS + MONSTER TRUCK...

COM
So I stopped by the Home Depot today and just had to take some pics of the beautiful mums they had on display. They were everywhere but none as vibrant as these ones. I love all the colours - especially the vibrant yelllows and fuscia. Some of the pots even had 3 different colours in one!

Everytime I go out shopping and I see them, I just have to buy one.  They always seem to cheer me up.
Sometimes I wish they could last forever like this, but unfortunately they don't.

I also seen a nice 'monster' truck in the same parking lot and took some pics of that, lol.  Anyways, I hope these colours will brighthen your day too. Fall is in the air!

The Beauty...

BIRD FLYING AROUND IN WALMART STORE

0
COM
Well, for my sightings today, I was able to observe a bird who apparently liked shopping at Walmart also.

Seriously though, this is not uncommon. There are all kinds of birds such as sparrows and doves that regularly seek out 'spots' in homes and buildings for nesting which, unfortunately, causes them to end up in places where we live and work - like Walmart!

This is not the first time I've encountered a bird flying around in a grocery store.  I'm sure they won't cause any harm but for sanitation reasons among other things, they probably won't be sticking around...

The CSL ASSINIBOINE

COM
So on my walk yesterday I managed to capture the sailing off of the CSL Assiniboine - a Great Lakes self-unloading bulk carrier, built in 1977, that was heading for Quebec City - a 2 day journey.

This mighty carrier is  739' 10" (225.50m) long!  I thought it would never end as I was recording it going by, (see video at the end of the post).

More stats:
Beam - 78' 00" (23.76m)
Depth - 48' 05" (14.75m)
Capacity (mid-summer) - 36,768 tons (37,358 mt) at a draft of 30' 04" (9.25m)
Power (diesel) - 9,000 b.h.p.

I seen it first, way off in the distance... slowly but surely, approaching me.

A JAGUAR NO-NO!

COM
On my drive yesterday I quickly took a few shots of what I thought was just a big NO, NO!  A jaguar parked in a driveway with rims that just didn't seem to look right with that type of car.

What happened to the good old days of the spoke-rims?  I just don't get it.

Sorry, I was in a hurry and couldn't get better shots. Maybe next time....

CAN THEY GET ANY SMALLER?

Apparently they can!
Meet Tiberius! He's only 4 months but he won't get much bigger than this at maturity!

"Nalla"

No.  Not that one.                                                                                              This one

So yesterday I was heading to the store when I came upon something... some bike I've never really seen before and had to take a pic.  I'm not sure exactly what 'it' is called.  Anyone? Lol.
